Pictures of the garden in September

The entrance of the small garden at the beginning of September, with to the left a very beautiful specimen of cryptomeria japonica 'Globosa Nana' be 10 years of age, surrounded at foot of a juniperus squamata 'Blue Carpet'.

The sedum spectabile has a strong presence at the beginning of its bloom, at the beginning of September.

sedum telephium 'Autumn Joy'

The sedum telephium 'Autumn Joy', very present also, will bloom some days after the precedent.

The gunnera is overhung by a hibiscus syriacus which blooms very well in spite of the shadow.

cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple'

The cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple' takes one beautiful emerald green colour at this summer end.

The weigelias presents us with a second flowering.

The anemones ofJapan 'Honorine Jobert' rise up to 1,80 meter in height and will soon be relieved, behind, by big light blue asters.

This anemone is one of my favorite plants.

The sedums attract any sorts of butterflies.

The anemones of Japan block the passage leading to the terrace, but it's not very important.

Lamium maculatum 'Anne Greenaway' stealing under a carex.

rosa floribunda 'Manou Meilland'

Rosa floribunda 'Manou Meilland' blooms again very well, isn't too sensitive to the diseases and nevertheless he crosses every winter for ten years the foot in the water.

English rosebush 'Heritage'blooms again well but is sensitive to the diseases and its stalks have difficulty in supporting very heavy flowers but charmingly fragrant.

rosa portland 'Yolande d'Aragon'

Rosebush portland 'Yolande d'Aragon' blooming again well and very fragrant. Its port is very stiff, it's advisable to plant it in background. By very wet time, what arrives in Normandy, the very supplied buttons don't open and rot.

Rosebush shrub 'Golden wings', one of my preferred for its nature and its thoughtlessness.

rosa 'Graham Thomas'

English rosebush 'Graham Thomas'. Although considered perfumed, mine smells nothing.

The rosebush 'Westerland' is very fragrant. rosa 'Westerland'

Roses 'Westerland' and dahlias 'Bishop of Landaff' et 'Nectar' compose a mixed border in orange-coloured red.

Phlox paniculata 'Graf Zeppelin'. It's a survivor. The last year, the rabbits had delighted in it in spring. Since our neighbours have a cat which is all the time in our garden, rabbits went to see somewhere else. Thanks to Chippie.

The monarda hands over to sedum spectabile.

The dahlia 'Bishop of Landaff' is for its highlight. What a pity so many gardeners prohibit the red of their garden. Question of fashion ? But the red redoes a return in force, it appears.

coreopsis verticillata 'Moon Beam'

The coreopsis verticillata 'Moon beam' bought in the middle of July on the route of the holidays sees not at all his disrupted bloom.

An at once colored and sweet harmony between the sedum and the ruta.

aster

Dwarfish aster in an unknown variety. Its bloom anticipates that of the other asters of a big week.

The original stripes of the miscanthus sinensis 'Zebrinus' aren't visible on the young leaves and appear a little later.

white aster

This white aster is magnificent. It was a quite small shoot in April. I am going to have to transplant it in the background because it is much stronger than foreseen.

When we walk in his garden by taking time, we always discover small charming scenes as these petals of roses fallen on asters.

sedum telephium 'Autumn Joy'

At the end of month this sedum 'Autumn Joy' collapsed. We can blame the big sedums for this defect. To avoid it, it would be necessary to divide them every other year and not too much to feed them to avoid that they rise too much.
